Claven XXVIII honorees announced

Posted on Feb 06, 2011

Seven notable individuals will be honored at the Claven XXVIII Awards Ceremony and Dinner on Saturday, April 30, at the Patterson Club in Fairfield.

This award was inaugurated in 1980 on the occasion of the school’s 75th anniversary. A lifetime achievement award, it is named in honor of Lauralton Hall’s foundress, Mother Mary Augustine Claven. The Claven Award is the highest distinction given by the school and is conferred every other year on exceptional individuals in recognition of their outstanding example, service, and achievement.

The 2011 Claven Award recipients are Susan Birge, ’69; Trudy Dickneider, ’64; Elizabeth Higgins Gladfelter, ’64; Teresa Money McLaughlin, ’86; and Dorothy Synkewecz, RSM.

The Reverend Peter H. McClean Award honors the memory of Father McClean, revered mentor, chaplain and lifelong friend of Lauralton Hall, by recognizing the dedication of men whose enduring friendship and unusual generosity endear them to the Lauralton Hall community.

The 2011 McClean Award recipients are Hon. John P. Chiota and Robert O’Keefe.

Please join us this year as we recognize these honorees for their personal and professional lives of achievement and service, not only to Lauralton Hall, but to their families and communities.
