Music students participate in All State Southern Region Choir

Lauralton students Mary Albano, ’06; Nina Demeter, ’07; and Emily Sanchez, ’06 recently participated in the All State Southern Region Choir. The girls competed with other singers from the Southern Region and were selected as some of the top ranking singers in the high schools in our area. Held at Maloney High School in Meriden on January 13 - 14, the festival was sponsored by the Connecticut Music Educators Association. While participating in the festival, Nina Demeter was selected from over 40 other singers as soloist for "Freedom Trilogy," one of the choral pieces.

In addition to their participation in the Southern Region Festival, all three students are to be congratulated for achieving scores in the competition that qualify them to audition for the All State Choir. Auditions will be held in early February and the All State Festival will be held in Hartford in March.
