DAR recognizes Lauralton senior
Posted on Jan 25, 2006The Freelove Baldwin Stow Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution recently honored Serena Silva, ’06 with the DAR Good Citizen Award. The chapter chose one honoree from each of Milford’s four high schools to receive this prestigious award for exemplifying the DAR standards of good citizenship—dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
The daughter of Gordon and Regina Silva of New Haven, Serena is very active both in and out of school. She is Co-President of LH Cares and a member of the Environmental and Mock Trial clubs. She volunteers at Alpha Achievement of Greater New Haven, a Saturday homework club for female students in grades 5 through 8, and at St. Martin de Porres School in Hamden and has organized “Floetic,” an inner city open mic poetry group of teenage students.
The entire Lauralton community congratulates Serena on her achievements.
