    <p> Student achievement awards were presented at the Underclass Awards Ceremony on May 23. The following juniors received some of the very special awards bestowed at the ceremony:&nbsp; <BR> </p> <P><STRONG>Margaux Canevari</STRONG> was awarded the Connecticut Section of the Society of Women Engineers Award given for her interest in engineering and excellent performance in mathematics and science. She also received the Dartmouth College Book Award for being in the top ten percent of her class, demonstrating intellectual leadership and making a positive contribution to the extracurricular life of the school.</P>
<P><STRONG>Kylie Culnane</STRONG> received the Yale University Book Award presented by the Yale Club of New Haven for her outstanding academic achievements. With this award&nbsp;she will be given the opportunity to join other outstanding students from local high schools to tour the Yale campus and accept the book award at Yale in the fall.&nbsp; </P>
<P><STRONG>Kathleen Keenoy</STRONG> was awarded the Bausch and Lomb Honorary Science Award for demonstrating excellence in the study of science, the Harvard University Book Award for combining excellence in scholarship and other fields and the Rensselaer Medal for her outstanding performance in mathematics and science.&nbsp; </P>
<P><STRONG>Megan Paqua</STRONG> received the University of Rochester, Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award for Humanities and Social Sciences for her outstanding achievement in humanities and social science, and the Princeton University Book Prize for being in the top ten percent of her class and actively participating in the extra-curricular life of Lauralton Hall.&nbsp; </P>
<P><STRONG>Michelle Salzillo</STRONG> was awarded the Sister Mary O’Neil Mercy Character Award, the highest character award given by Lauralton Hall to an underclassman for embodying the Mercy ideals of humility, hospitality, graciousness, friendliness, generosity, intellectual curiosity and commitment. These are the principles lived by the Sisters of Mercy who founded Lauralton Hall.&nbsp; </P>
<P><STRONG>Allison Vicenzi</STRONG> received the Excellence in Math and Science Award presented by Fairfield University in partnership with Sikorsky. She was also awarded the College of the Holy Cross Book Prize for ranking in the top ten percent of her class, and for having shown a strong sense of commitment to her school and community and having exhibited sincere concern for others and a responsible attitude in all of her endeavors.&nbsp;&nbsp; </P>
<P>Congratulations to these students on their achievements.</P>
