Steel Magnolias thrills audiences

Lauralton Hall students performed Steel Magnolias on March 2 and 3 in the Claven Auditorium to a full house both nights. Nina Demeter, ’07 (Truvy) and Ashley Calero, ’07 (Annelle) had the crowd laughing right from the onset. Kate McClain, ’07 (Clairee) and Emily Hauck, ’08 (Ouiser), with their constant bickering and humor kept the audience in hysterics throughout. Krystal McKane, ’07 (M’Lynn) and Jennie Serra, ’10 (Shelby) added a sentimental touch to the performances with their portrayals of mother and daughter. These six young women, under the direction of Joanna Nicoletti, ’07, assisted by Kylie Culnane, ’07 and Kate Doyle, ’08, proved their hard work paid off by presenting two terrific performances.
