    <p> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">Three notable women received Lauralton Hall’s highest honor--the Claven Award--at the school’s 26th annual Claven Awards Ceremony and Dinner on April 28. </P> </p> <P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Julia M. McNamara, Ph.D., president of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven</B>, for her creative institutional leadership; role as a community leader and advocate of lifelong learning; and commitment to making both Greater New Haven, and the state itself, stronger, more successful and more resilient communities </P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt"><STRONG>Lauralton alumna Sherrill S. Cooke of Milford, a member of the Class of 1985</B></STRONG>, for her professional achievements in the marketing and communications field; and for her vision, dedication and commitment to helping others as founder of The Bob Cooke Skin Cancer Foundation. Initially started as a tribute to her father, the skin cancer fund- and awareness-raising organization has now gone national--affecting and educating people throughout the country. </P>

Canning, RSM, MA, of West Hartford, a member of the Class of 1953</B></STRONG>, for more than 50 years of pioneering work on behalf of Connecticut youth; for the care, concern and courage that led her to opening a mission in Haiti; and for her compassion in reaching out to immigrant communities within Connecticut.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">&nbsp; </SPAN></P>
