Claven Dinner photos now available

Three notable women received Lauralton Hall’s highest honor--the Claven Award--at the school’s 26th annual Claven Awards Ceremony and Dinner on April 28.

Julia M. McNamara, Ph.D., president of Albertus Magnus College in New Haven, for her creative institutional leadership; role as a community leader and advocate of lifelong learning; and commitment to making both Greater New Haven, and the state itself, stronger, more successful and more resilient communities

 

Lauralton alumna Sherrill S. Cooke of Milford, a member of the Class of 1985, for her professional achievements in the marketing and communications field; and for her vision, dedication and commitment to helping others as founder of The Bob Cooke Skin Cancer Foundation. Initially started as a tribute to her father, the skin cancer fund- and awareness-raising organization has now gone national--affecting and educating people throughout the country.

 

Lauralton alumna Sister Marilyn M. Canning, RSM, MA, of West Hartford, a member of the Class of 1953, for more than 50 years of pioneering work on behalf of Connecticut youth; for the care, concern and courage that led her to opening a mission in Haiti; and for her compassion in reaching out to immigrant communities within Connecticut.
