Students excel in national language exams

In their first year of competition, Lauralton Hall students performed exceptionally well on the Grand Concours National French Examination sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French.
At the fourth-year French level, Elizabeth Lynch, ’09 placed 6th in CT and 8th in the country; Katherine Doyle, ’08 placed 7th in CT and 9th in the country; Laura Boynton, ’08 placed 8th in CT and 10th nationally.
At the second-year level, Lia Bonacci, ’10 placed 4th in CT and 5th nationally and Kathleen Steele, ’10 placed 9th in CT and 10th in the country.
At the first-year level, Lindsay Warren, ’11 placed 4th in CT and 5th in the country and Katherine Siroky, ’11 placed 9th in CT and 10th in the nation.

The American Classical League and National Junior Classical Latin League awards were presented in three categories:
Maxima Cum Laude Medal and Certificate - Rebecca Napolitano, ’11, Emily Nichols, ’10 and Mary Kate LoPiccolo, ’09.
Magna Cum Laude Certificate - Emily Devaney, ’11, Jennifer Serra, ’10, Livia Fry, ’09, Molly Yardley, ’09, Pooja Uppalapati, ’09, Sarah Kavulickh,’09 and Mary Jennings ’09.
Cum Laude Certificate - Christina Breisler, ’11, Micaela Jawor, ’11, Katlyn Sheffield, ’11 and Amelia Vicenzi, ’10.
