HOBY Ambassador Named
Posted on Dec 16, 2008Danielle Sekerak,’11 has been named the Lauralton Hall Hugh O’Brien Leadership (HOBY) Ambassador for 2008-2009. HOBY is the nation’s premier program exclusively designed for high school sophomores. It provides lifelong leadership development opportunities that empower individuals to achieve their highest potential. Annually, over 20,000 public and private high schools are invited to select an outstanding tenth grader to attend a three- or four-day HOBY leadership development seminar.
Danielle, an excellent selection for this award, is an exceptional student leader. She is in the honors program, takes AP classes and has achieved high honor role status every semester thus far. At Lauralton she is currently the editor of Key Club and a member of Humanities, Science and Environmental Clubs, and is President of the school’s Looking Glass magazine. She is also a member of the varsity soccer team and the varsity indoor track team. Danielle volunteers during the summer at Vacation Bible School at St. Jude’s in Monroe. Last summer she also devoted 45 hours of service as a volunteer at Lauralton.The entire Lauralton Hall community congratulates Danielle Sekerak on her accomplishments.
