Parents passionate about the chance to win $100,000 in tuition

Posted on Mar 24, 2009

MILFORD, CT, March 19, 2009 - Since the inception last year of Lauralton Hall’s $100,000 Tuition Raffle, Dominic and Mary Sorresso of Fairfield have been truly devoted volunteers and supporters of the innovative fundraiser. The parents of three children including Katherine, a junior at Lauralton, the Sorressos are fully aware of the rising cost of education today.

This committed couple is determined to raise public awareness about the $100,000 Tuition Raffle so everyone will have the opportunity to take advantage of this rare chance. Whether promoting the raffle, fielding questions about it, passing out brochures, selling and processing tickets, or simply talking about the raffle, this husband and wife team has been a constant force behind the success of the raffle. The $100,000 tuition raffle prize can be used for any level of education…elementary, high school, or college.

Dominic Sorresso says that when he gets together with friends such as Dr. Frank Romano of Bridgeport, who has already purchased his tickets, they find it inconceivable that anyone would bypass an opportunity like this. Dominic tells everyone that “this is a no-brainer…$100 for the cost of a college education! I don’t know why more people don’t do it. With expenses so high, the odds of 2,500 to 1 are better than any lotto.” Mr. Sorresso goes on to say that $100 may sound like a lot of money in this economy but “if you cut out just a couple of little things each day, like buying a cup of coffee or dinner and a movie, before you know it, you’ve got yourself a ticket.”

Tickets can be purchased at school on weekdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. with cash, check or credit card.

The winning ticket will be pulled at 8:00 p.m. May 14, at Lauralton Hall. The winner does not need to be present. Please email cmonk@lauraltonhall.org or call (203) 877-2786 with questions or for more information.
