The Academy of Our Lady of Mercy, Lauralton Hall, is a Catholic college preparatory school founded in 1905 by the Sisters of Mercy. Lauralton Hall's unique mission is to foster a community atmosphere enriched by the Mercy tradition and to educate young women to pursue knowledge, recognize truth, and respond to the needs of others.
The following goals provide the foundation for the school's work:
  • To impart intellectual skills of discovering, thinking, reasoning, and communicating symbolically;
  • to expand minds and to enrich hearts through the study of religion and the practice of social service;
  • to develop appreciation for the fine arts and for the achievements and traditions of the past;
  • to affirm each young woman's God-given talent, uniqueness and worth by affording her mentorship, encouragement and counseling toward self discipline;
  • to provide opportunities for success and leadership in the classroom, in extracurricular activities, in sports, and in wholesome recreation;
  • to meet individual needs and to encourage pursuit of personal goals;
  • to model acceptance of our responsibilities as citizens of our communities, our nation, and our world.
Moreover, Lauralton Hall endeavors to fulfill this mission in a genial, supportive, and theocentric atmosphere characterized by the distinctive kindness and concern accorded students in a school permeated by the Mercy vision of renewing the world by means of knowledge, faith, justice and charity.
Challenging and demanding college preparatory, honors and advanced placement courses are offered in all of the academic disciplines. Use the links below to view course descriptions:
