Capital Campaigns and Major Gifts

Every healthy school or non-profit organization, from time to time, must engage in fund raising designed to secure significant major gifts to address a significant major need.
For example, Lauralton Hall conducted a Capital Campaign in 1998 to increase the endowment and partially fund construction of the new gymnasium, and in 2004-2005 conducted ACCESS, a major gift project designed to enhance educational technology.
The school also successfully completed Imagine…Our Second Century, a capital campaign for the enhancement of science and art facilities. The endeavor raised $2.2 million and was duly celebrated with the donors at a gala reception. The highlight of the event was recognition of the generosity of all 49 donors with the placement of a donor plaque in the newly renovated art space and state-of-the-art science labs in the school building.
The strategic objectives for 2010-2014 have been approved; these goals position the President and the Board of Trustees to determine the next capital needs for Lauralton Hall to become the premiere learning environment for young women as required in this dynamic and global new century.
