Spirit Week culminates with traditional pep rally

Posted on Nov 13, 2009

There was an abundance of school spirit surrounding the annual celebration of Spirit Week during the week of November 9. Festivities began with Cartoon Character Day, followed by TA Theme Day and Decade Day when freshmen dressed to represent the 1950s, sophomores the '60s, juniors the '70s and seniors the '80s. Outfits were outrageous, creative, fun and funny!

At the traditional pep rally competition, always held on the last day of Spirit Week, freshmen dressed in pink with white lettering, sophomores in white with red accents, juniors in black with silver sparkling letters and seniors in blue, the Class of 2010 color. The students gathered for class competition and, although all classes were successful, the seniors won with their rendition of “Blue's Clues,” a play on their senior color.

Under the leadership of Jill Waldron and Peg McGowan, several faculty members, along Sister Janice, participated in the pep rally this year by performing their interpretation of the YouTube sensation “Evolution of Dance.” At the end of the dance, the entire school joined in to dance to Beyonce’s "All the Single Ladies."
