New staff members welcomedPosted on Aug 01, 2010
Lauralton Hall is pleased to introduce our new staff members for the 2010-2011 school year: Alice Thomas is the new Dean of Students. She started her career in education as an English teacher, eventually moving on to administration. Her most recent position was as Dean of Students at Elgin High School in Elgin Illinois where she served from 2005 to 2008 before relocating to Connecticut. She holds a BA in English Education from Northeastern Illinois University (Chicago, IL), MEd from National Louis University (Evanston, Illinois) and Educational Leadership Administration and Supervisory Program Certification from National Louis University. Erin Pinsince will join the Science Department. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven with a BS in Biology with Teacher Certification for Secondary Education. In addition to working as research assistant to the Chairperson of the Southern Connecticut Biology Department, she has served as a paraeducator and substitute teacher with the Milford Board of Education. Lauren Korman came to us from the Cheshire Public School system last year when she served as a long term substitute in the Lauralton Social Studies Department. We’re pleased that she will begin this year as a permanent member of that department. Lauren earned her teaching certification in 2008 and is currently working on a master’s degree in history. Previously, Lauren worked as press secretary to Congressman Les Aspin, Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee on Capitol Hill and also held a number of positions in the Department of Defense. Please join us in welcoming these new members to the Lauralton Hall family.
