Posted on Oct 23, 2010

The Lauralton Hall English Department is pleased to host Emily Dickinson scholar Dr. Jonnie Guerra. She is the second highly esteemed guest to speak in the school’s exciting new “In-Residence” guest lecturer series this year. After two days of teaching English classes at Lauralton, Dr. Guerra will lead a poetry reading of some of Emily Dickinson’s most beloved poems read by Lauralton Hall students, faculty, and staff with commentary provided by Dr. Guerra. The poetry reading will take place on Tuesday, November 16, in the Claven Auditorium from 3pm - 4pm. In true Emily Dickinson style, guests will be treated to apple cider, gingerbread cake, and tea prior to the reading from 2:30pm-3pm in the auditorium. The reception and poetry reading are free and open to the public. Anyone planning to attend is asked to notify Cheryl Monk by November 12, at cmonk@lauraltonhall.org or (203) 877-2786, ext. 121.
