Schuler to coach varsity basketballPosted on May 16, 2005Milford native Stephen Schuler has been hired as the school’s Varsity Head Basketball Coach. Schuler, who has been the Junior Varsity Coach at Lauralton Hall for the past three years, replaces long-time coach Tom McDonald. A 1990 graduate of Foran High School where he earned All-State basketball honors, Schuler went on to Saint Joseph College of Maine where he was a two-time All-America NAIA selection. In 2002, Schuler was inducted into the Saint Joseph College Athletic Hall of Fame. “We are very excited to have Steve as our new basketball coach,” said Joe Tonelli, Director of Athletics. “Steve’s knowledge of the game and teaching ability will be great assets to our program.” “I am very proud and excited about the opportunity to be a part of a great program that is so rich in tradition. I hope I can continue that tradition,” Schuler said. The Crusaders are coming off a 10-11 season and will look to rebuild after graduating five seniors.
