“Life with Mother Superior” a big hit!Posted on May 14, 2006On May 5 and 6 Lauralton Hall presented the comedic play, Life with Mother Superior. Based on the 1966 movie, The Trouble with Angels, starring well-known actresses Rosalind Russell and Haley Mills, the storyline revolves around two mischief-makers at an all-girls’ Catholic school who are determined to make life a living nightmare for the school’s Mother Superior. The antics of these two girls amused audiences of all ages at both performances. Behind the scenes the young actresses had been working diligently since January to produce the show. Faculty member Sharon Foran acted as moderator and the show was directed by Joanna Nicoletti, ’07. Her responsibilities included auditioning and directing the actors and actresses and overseeing all other creative and technical elements of the show. The lead roles were Mother Superior (Carolyne Ventricelli, ’08), Mary Clancey (Laura Blagys, ’07) and Jane Moore (Kate Doyle, ’08). The comedic roles were Sister McBride (Emily Hauck, ’08), the stuttering sewing teacher, Sister Angela (Laura Boynton, ’08), the nun in training, and Miss Toomy (Janelle McKenzie, ’07), the eccentric drama teacher. Congratulations to the moderator, director, cast and crew on an outstanding presentation.
