Freshmen and sophomores enjoy semi-formal

Posted on Mar 15, 2007

Freshmen and sophomores had a great time at the Student Council sponsored semi-formal on March 9, and Student Council members enjoyed all the preparations involved with making the dance a fun event.

After a long week of shopping and finishing up details for the dance, Student Council officers Tracey Allen, President, ’07 and Kate LaBella, Vice President, ’07, started decorating Grassy Hill Country Club right after school on March 9. After three hours, with the help of many volunteers, Grassy Hill Country Club was overrun with black, white and pink balloons, and the centerpieces, surrounded by confetti for a finishing touch, were in place. The theme, A Night in Paris, came to life. When the doors opened, the guests went through the traditional receiving line consisting of teachers eagerly awaiting introductions to the girls’ dates. The music began and the dance floor filled quickly.

The Student Council officers and moderator, Patricia Schnepf, were delighted with the success of the evening. The food was wonderful, the decorations were a hit and many girls from the freshman and sophomore class participated in the fun! Not only was it a night in Paris, but it was a night to remember.
