Latin students excel in national exam

Eight Latin students achieved excellence on the competitive National Latin Exam. More than 149,000 Latin students from all 50 states and 13 other countries competed for top scores on the annual exam, which was sponsored by the American and National Junior Classical Leagues.

Earning silver medals and maxima cum laude awards were:
Sophomore Heather Hawkes of Trumbull
Sophomore Mary Kate Lo Piccolo of Newtown
Sophomore Molly Yardley of Milford

Earning magna cum laude awards were:
Junior Erika Parisi  of Westport
Junior Laura Turner of Fairfield

Earning cum laude awards were:
Freshman Sarah Macone of Milford
Junior Laura Bologna of Fairfield
Senior Margaret Miller of Stratford

Congratulations to these students who will receive their awards at Lauralton’s annual Honors Assembly on May 22.
