Don’t miss “Christmas in Song” on December 10Posted on Nov 12, 2008
Lauralton Hall’s annual highly-anticipated Christmas concert, “Christmas in Song,” will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, in the Parsons Complex auditorium, 70 West River St, Milford. All are invited to attend this free event, which will feature members of Lauralton’s Concert Choir, Advanced Vocal Ensemble, Freshman Choir, and Instrumental Ensemble. Voluntary donations of non-perishable food items will be accepted at the door to be given to local, needy residents. Lauralton’s Advanced Vocal Ensemble made headlines in recent years when the group was chosen to represent Connecticut at America’s 400th Anniversary celebration in Jamestown, Va. That performance, which was attended by President George Bush among other world leaders, has led to the group being invited to perform at several other notable events, including the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and at a holiday concert last year at New York City’s world-famous Lincoln Center, which showcased elite high school choirs from Connecticut and New Jersey. This year the Concert Choir and the Advanced Vocal ensemble are proud to have been selected to sing on Dec. 15 at two performances of the Candlelight Processional at Walt Disney World’s Epcot Park. The Lauralton choirs will join with other choirs and an orchestra for a performance of both traditional and non-traditional Christmas carols.
