The Lauralton legacy continues as incoming freshmen whose mothers and/or grandmothers graduated from Lauralton were recognized at a reception in the Lauralton mansion to honor this wonderful family tradition. The families were joined by several alum faculty and staff members. Fourteen students in the incoming freshmen Class of 2014 have a legacy connection to Lauralton Hall. One student has both a mother and a grandmother who are graduates; eight students have mothers who are graduates; and six students have grandmothers who graduated from Lauralton Hall. In addition, eleven members of the faculty and staff at Lauralton are graduates of the school.

Lauralton's Advanced Vocal Ensemble was recently honored by an invitation from Representative T.R. Rowe of Trumbull’s District 123 to sing the National Anthem at the opening of the February 24 session of the House of Representatives in Hartford. The students had the opportunity to meet several State Representatives in addition to Mr. Rowe: Tony Hwang of District 134 in Fairfield/Trumbull and Richard Roy of District 119 in Milford who gave the singers a lovely introduction and spoke to the House about the restoration of Lauralton’s barn that the state is helping to fund. The Class of 2010 observed the traditional 100 Days Dinner on February 24, marking the 100 day countdown to graduation. In attendance were the members of the Class of 2010, administrators and teachers. The evening began with opening remarks by Principal Ann Pratson followed by an address by Class of 2010 President Erika Sekerak. Erika spoke about the significance of the long-standing tradition of the 100 Days Dinner. Campus Minister Christine Ring led the group in prayer before they enjoyed a wonderful buffet dinner. The Women of Mercy award was created in 2004 to recognize young women, chosen by their peers, who exemplify the qualities of mercy that Catherine McAuley established for her religious community - compassion, kindness, honesty, integrity and care for the least of God’s people. A student in each class is recognized annually. Lauralton Hall is proud to honor members of the student body, now numbering 26, who have been chosen to receive the Women of Mercy award because they witness the works of mercy. The Lauralton Hall Key Club is sponsoring a Valentine Dance for the senior citizen community featuring Evelyn Hahn, professional dance instructor, who will lead line dancing and offer free dance lessons. The event will take place on Wednesday, February 10, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm in the Claven Auditorium at Lauralton Hall, 200 High Street, Milford. All senior citizens are invited. In addition to opportunities for line dancing, Key Club members will conduct tours of the school’s mansion. There is no admission fee and refreshments will be served.
