"Christmas in the Mansion" organizers applaud all who contributed

Posted on Dec 08, 2008

Thanks and accolades are due to an amazing community of young women and their families for once again coming together in a tremendous effort to present “Christmas in the Mansion” 2008. For the 19th annual event, donations for the raffle and gift boutique poured in; volunteer decorators worked endlessly to prepare the buildings and grounds with this year’s “Winter Wonderland” theme; students, parents, staff and alumnae baked delicacies for sale in the Bake Shoppe and trees were beautifully decorated for raffle. Preparations for this major annual fundraiser began in the summer and lasted right up to the event weekend. Parents, students and alumnae worked diligently toward a common goal…a successful friend-raiser and fundraiser. Without the dedication of these amazing volunteers this event could not have been a success.

The goal was for the students to “kick” a football as far as possible toward a tarp made up of five multicolor squares arranged in varying patterns. The squares were assigned to five competing groups--freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors and faculty/staff/parents.
